unfocused and okay

I was reading the TEFL Smiler blog and came across a post where he was noting the end of one his favorites, The Grey Notebook. I was struck by the fact that the author of the Grey notebook cited the same usability article that I noted in my opening post.

The more I think about it, the more I dislike the advice about low-value demographics. I have to focus on a limited range of subjects at work; that's what I am paid for. I can't imagine behaving that way for a hobby. If every blogger stopped self-indulgent rambling about whatever was occupying their brain space, what would be the point?
