Understatement of the Day
From a BBC story about a lawyer in the Saddam Hussein trial being found dead:
The Iraqi government condemned the killing, which is seen as indicative of the difficulties the trial may face
That's putting it mildly.I wasn't a fan of this war before it started, nor since, and I am not at all supportive of the death penalty. However, in this case I would be willing to make an exception: Hussein has earned a bullet in the temple at the side of the road, and that would be a mercy by comparison to the outrages for which he's responsible.
