love animals, don't eat them

L has been asking her mother and me a lot of questions about animals lately. Yesterday she asked me if I liked pandas.

I replied I thought they were delicious, especially when they were deep-fried.

L could tell that I was joking but she was still horrified: "Daaaaaaaad! You don't eat animals, they're yucky tasting! You only look at them!"

Fortunately, common sense prevailed before I could provide a resume of the animals that she regularly enjoys on a plate. That crisis can wait.
